It has always been our Association’s dream to professionalize our industry. Towards this end we established our AFPI Training and Development Center to cater to our training as well as educational needs. Forms its inception we have envisioned the Training and Development Center to be an IATA endorsed training institution because with the an IATA endorsement it means the course as well as the instruction do comply with the internationally accepted norms and standards that IATA represents. Thus we went through the difficult and tedious process of having the Center endorsed by IATA.
Last May 9, 2002, IATA through the office of Ms. Chantal Leblanc finally sent us the paperwork formalizing our agreement with IATA to have our DGR Course accepted/ certified by IATA and the Training Center endorsed as an “ IATA Dangerous Goods endorsed training school.” Having complied with this last requirement of IATA, henceforth the Training Center can now issue to all those who undergo and pass the DGR Course being given at the Training Center an IATA Certificate making the candidate qualified to be issued a DGR license. The license has to be renewed every two after duly undergoing and passing the refresher course.
